Many patients suffer from disorders of the masticatory apparatus. These disorders of the masticatory muscles or the jaw joints are also called CMD (craniomandibular dysfunction).
If the teeth are damaged or the bite position needs to be adjusted, we recommend a reconstruction of the teeth (see also: therapeutic dentures).
Symptoms of a disorder of the masticatory apparatus (CMD)
- Teeth grinding or clenching (bruxism)
- Pain in the jaw joint
- Restricted mouth opening
- Pain in the chewing muscles
- Hypertrophy (excessive growth) of the masticatory muscles
- Radiating facial pain
- Migraine and tinnitus
